What’s Government Relations

Government Relations is the influencing of public opinion and public policy through engaging with elected officials, appointed government agency executives, and public bodies. Organizations choose to do this in the hopes of:

  • Introducing, defending, or defeating legislation before, during, and after the legislative sessions.
  • Working to help shape the development of or amending of government programs or policies.
  • Creating access for clients to inform key decision-makers of the potential impacts of proposed legislative or regulatory changes.
  • Influencing public opinion, and elected official in support or against a proposed/ existing regulation or legislation.

We do this by facilitating access to influential elected and community leaders who have an interest in the cause and can potentially be persuaded to support a client’s position.
